A mother and her one-year-old son were both run over in the parking lot of a convenience store in Muskegon, Michigan, by a hit and run driver.
Surveillance footage captured the shocking incident unfold, and it shows the woman pushing her baby in a stroller across the car park when a man driving a van suddenly smashes into the back of the pair and the vehicle then drags the pram across the parking lot and the woman catches it before it goes into the middle of a busy road.
The man doesn’t even stop despite the fact that he would clearly have seen the entire ordeal unfold in his rear view mirror, and would have probably heard the woman, her friend, and her child screaming for help.
The ordeal unfolded on June 25 in the parking lot of Sam’s Drink All at around 10:30 am, and now police are searching for the culprit.
Their suspect has been described as an African American, who was wearing a blue T-shirt, saggy blue jeans and orange and blue athletic shoes. The mother was an 18-year-old woman who hailed from Muskegon according to the police report.
The official documentation also states that the van struck the woman first and knocked her down to the ground, then backed into her stroller, at which point it got lodged onto the car and was dragged along.
The stroller remained stuck to the vehicle and the mother was only just able to grab her boy out of the stroller before the car then continued on its way with the carriage attached. The mother only sustained an injured knee, which saw it scrapped, however her child managed to escape without any damage according to police.
The van in question was gold and also had a cracked windshield, which was gained before the incident. You can watch the incident unfold above.
