Ellen DeGeneres And Portia De Rossi Still Don’t Want Kids
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been married nearly five years, but the couple still aren’t interested in starting a family.
The couple have talked about their disinterest in having children in the past, and Portia confirmed that they’re still comfortable as is in an interview with Out Magazine.
“There comes some pressure in your mid-30s, and you think, ‘Am I going to have kids so I don’t miss out on something that other people really seem to love?'” the 40-year-old Arrested Development star admitted.
“Or is it that I really genuinely want to do this with my whole heart? I didn’t feel that my response was ‘yes’ to the latter,” she said.
The actress continues:
“You have to really want to have kids, and neither of us did. So it’s just going to be me and Ellen and no babies.”
Portia says that married life with 55-year-old Ellen is still going strong.
“We’ve settled into happily married life,” she says. “We really support each other in whatever we’re doing and we’re incredibly happy, which is why you don’t see us in the press so much. There’s no drama to report.”
For now, the actress is looking forward to the return of Arrested Development, in which she reprises her role as Lindsay Bluth Fünke. The new season of the acclaimed cult comedy will air exclusively on Netflix in May. Still, her marriage is what makes her most happy.
“Married life is blissful, it really is,” Portia gushes. “I’ve never been happier than I am right now.”
