‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ Launch Trailer Hits
Injustice: Gods Among Us now has a launch trailer.
Ed Boon, the man most known for the Mortal Kombat series alongside previous cohort John Tobias, has now given DC Comics fans a fighting game based on what the gamers want. Injustice: Gods Among Us builds on what we expect from NetherRealm and DC Comics to give us interactive, destructible backgrounds, visually impressive arena changes, and faithful representations of the superpowers. This game was built with the input of novices and veterans alike, and people who hate Mortal Kombat.
The Story Mode is similar to 2011’s Mortal Kombat reboot, but just in case you need a refresher, there is a prequel comic book series in the works.
The Injustice: Gods Among Us trailer begins with what seems like a Star Wars reference, as Aquaman tells Batman, “It’s a trap.”
Batman replies, “Of course it is,” before the screen blacks out.
The soundtrack booms before Catwoman is holding Cyborg by the collar in front of the logo for the Hall of Justice, “You’re one of them.”
The screen blacks out again, followed by another boom.
Wonder Woman, Green Arrow and The Flash are gathered as The Flash says, “Metropolis will be history.”
The screen once again blacks out, but then we see Batman looking feral, holding a batarang as the background has an explosion effect. We then see Batman doing a backflip over the Batmobile as it races through where he just was, hitting Deathstroke. Shazam yells his name as he throw the Green Lantern to the pavement.
The words pop in, “From the creators of Mortal Kombat,” before a train hits Green Arrow.
Bane grabs and slams the Joker to the ground. Green Lantern summons a bunch of fighter jets to hit Superman. Lex Luthor is being flung through space as he hits a satellite and a spacecraft.
The rest of the launch trailer is above.
