Jenna Bush Hager Gets Baby Shower From NBC Co-Workers
Jenna Bush Hager got a baby shower from her NBC co-workers, and a little advice from fellow mom Meredith Viera.
“Get a nap anytime you can,” Viera wrote in a copy of of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.
Earlier this month Bush had a posh baby shower in New York City, one that brought out other members of NBC’s on-air talent. Fellow Today personality Hoda Kotb advised Bush to raise her child the same way her mom, Laura Bush, raised her.
Guests to Jenna Bush’s baby shower filled gift tables with baby clothes and books, each filled with a bit of their own personalized parenting advice.
Family members offered up other gifts at Jenna Bush’s baby shower. Her dad, George W. Bush, used his new pasttime of painting to make a portrait of the Hagers’ cat to hang above the baby’s crib. He also painted a landscape featuring a “baby tree” and a still life of nightfall over the stone cross where Jenna and Henry were married in 2008.
Not all the gifts were baby-centered. Today producer Jackie Levin gave Jenna a copy of the E.L. James fiction erotica novel, Fifty Shades of Gray. “That’s baby number two material!” Jenna joked to her husband Henry Hager after opening the book.
The pregnancy has been a family affair, with Jenna’s mom joining Henry to put together the nursery for the little one, who is due in May.
“Put us all to work!” Bush Hager told People, describing the neutral-colored room to accommodate the baby. The couple has decided to wait until birth to find out if they’re having a boy or girl.
The fact that Jenna Bush held her baby shower with NBC co-workers continues her close relationship to the show. It was during a Today show segment back in December that Jenna first announced her pregnancy.
