‘BioShock Infinite’ Atop Sales Charts For Second Straight Week

BioShock Infinite landed the top spot on the UK sales charts for the second straight week.

As popular as the title has been, the only real shock this morning would have been if the game had somehow not managed to stay in the #1 slot.

It bears mentioning yet again that despite all the talk of disappointing sales numbers for Tomb Raider , the game has been out for more than a month and it still sits in the second spot of the rankings.

Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth will be quite thankful if they can manage the same kind of staying power that Lara Croft has managed so far.

BioShock Infinite seems likely to be here to stay. The video game has become so popular already that there is even talk of a board game spinoff being in the works.

Just ask Rovio (the makers of Angry Birds ) whether getting toys and other games made based on a video game means that you are well liked.

Among the games that released last week, Defiance is making a strong, if somewhat disappointing stand at the number three spot on the charts.

Opening number three is certainly not something that game makers are going to aspire to, but when you consider that the top two are both games from series that are well known and Defiance has no established fan base, the game has nothing to be ashamed about.

When talking about spoilers who might be surprising a bit, you have to mention FIFA 13 , which is still solidly sitting in the top five at #4.

Luigi’s Mansion 2 , which is a Nintendo exclusive game has also been a pleasant surprise and rounds out the top five games.

The rest of the top 10 included Gears of War: Judgement , Call of Duty: Black Ops II , Assassin’s Creed III , Skylanders Giants , and Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

Do you think BioShock Infinite can repeat their feat next week?
