‘Minecraft’ PC Edition Hits 10 Million Copies Sold Mark
Minecraft has been a massively popular game for a couple of year. The PC version, where the game got its start has just hit the 10 million copies sold mark.
Mojang game designer Jens Bergensten announced that the game had crested that mark on his Twitter account. In that tweet he also foreshadowed a new addition to the game.
With the Microsoft 360 edition of the game selling more than 5 million editions in a year, the company has said that in total the company sold around 15 million copies in 2012.
Considering that game was once little more than a cult favorite, those are mighty impressive sales numbers.
Minecraft has become as popular as it has thanks in large part to Mojang continuing to change and add things to a game that was once a very basic building game.
The tweet that Bergensten sent out had a twitpic of a horse and that appears to be a less than subtle hint that when the PC version of the game gets update 1.6 it will be including horses into the game.
While that seems to be a rather small update to some people, the game developers have worked hard to give the world inside the game a real look and feel, despite the blocky graphics that are its signature.
The more animals and people that are put into the game, the better the game becomes. The game has also prided itself on its additions having specific interactions with the characters in the game.
Minecraft (PC) has hit 10M! As promised, a subtle hint on the main 1.6 feature (thanks @ebbakier): imgur.com/qAuCLex ?

All of these kinds of tweaks take a little bit of time when they are finally released and so Mojang loves to tease its fans with these drips and drabs of updates.
Bergensten did not say when this newest update would be released but it stands to reason that players won’t have to wait too much longer.
