BioShock Infinite makers are attempting to cash in on the popularity of the video game by making games and toys that are tied into the title. At the top of the list is a board game that would allow two players to take on the role of warring factions in an attempt to control the city of Columbia.
It is Columbia that Booker and Elizabeth have to work their way through in the video game and apparently that plot device will play a role in the board game. The big difference here is that instead of actually controlling the main characters you play as either the Vox Populi or the Founders.
BioShock Infinite: Siege of Columbia does allow you to interact with both Booker and Elizabeth . In the board game the two popular characters force players to “reconsider their strategies as the two cut a path through the burning city.”
Plaid Hat games is the company that has chosen to take the ridiculously popular video game and bring it to the tabletop. You can pre-order this game for $60 now or you can pay a whopping $85 after it has officially hit the market.
The company says that they believe the game will be made available in the next 2-5 months. It stands to reason that the more people who actually purchase the game, the more chance there is that the game will become available quicker.
While you may not be able to play as the two main characters from the video game, you can take control of other characters that are almost as memorable. Songbird and Daisy Fitzroy are both playable on the board game.
How these characters, as well as Booker and Elizabeth actually affect the gameplay isn’t known just yet. It appears we’ll have to wait and get the actual game to see just how they come into play.
