Nicholas Hoult Cast In ‘Dark Places’ Alongside Charlize Theron
It has been a very uneven year thus far for actor Nicholas Hoult. Earlier this year the actor starred in the entertaining Zombie film Warm Bodies. While it fared well for its market, his next project Jack the Giant Slayer proved to be an expensive dud.
The film failed to impress critics and moviegoers weren’t that amped to see the film, with it making a measly $63 million domestically. Hopefully this new bit of news for Nicholas Hoult will fare better, as reports are trickling in that Hoult has been cast in the Charlize Theron vehicle Dark Places.
Hoult will join Charlize Theron and Chloe Moretz in Dark Places. The film is an adaptation of a novel by author Gillian Flynn, and will be written and directed by Sarah Key director Gilles Pasquet-Brenner. Although there’s no start date for production yet, this has been a quickly developing film.
In addition to Hoult signing on, Charlize will not only star, but also produce the film. Dark Places synopsis reads as:
“The story centers on Libby Day (Theron), who as a teenager witnesses her family get murdered, and testifies against her brother when he is tried for the crime. 25 years later, Libby is brought before the secretive, crime-solving Kill Club who want to uncover the truth about what happened. Hoult will play Lyle, the treasurer of the Kill Club, thus proving that no group, no matter how odd, needs a treasurer.”
Dark Places isn’t the only promising project that Nicholas Hoult has on his plate. He’s in another Theron project, the reboot to Mad Max, titled Mad Max: Fury Road. As of right now Hoult is filming Young Ones along with Elle Fanning and Michael Shannon. The biggest most anticipated film on Hoult’s tall order is X-Men: Days of Future Past, where he will reprise his role as Hank McCoy also known as Beast.
