Buckwild Producers Offer To Pay For Shain Gandee’s Funeral
Parallel Entertainment and Zoo Productions, the production companies behind the hit MTV reality showBuckwild, have offered to pay the funeral expenses for show star Shain Gandee.
Parallel Entertainment CEO J.P. Williams told TMZ on Wednesday morning, “Shain was a great kid with a big heart who had endless love for his mom and dad. I am from West Virginia and this show reminded me of how I grew up.”
A donation website was recently setup to pay funeral costs for Shain Gandee. Money raised from that website will now be used to pay for expenses incurred by Shain’s family as they go through the grieving process. Money left over from family expenses will help pay for the funerals of the other two men killed during the vehicle related accident.
Yesterday we reported that the 21-year-old reality TV star was out mudding in his truck when it became stuck in mud. Shain, his uncle and a friend remained inside the vehicle and were killed by carbon monoxide poisoning.
According to authorities, the red-and-white 1984 Ford Bronco’s muffler was below the surface and mud covered the passenger side.
Police sent out an aviation unit on Monday morning to search for the men after they were reported mission.
MTV has since suspended shooting on the second season of Buckwild. The show was two weeks into its filming schedule for Buckwild season 2.
Gandee’s family following his death admitted that they were having a hard time coming up with funeral expenses. The family was planning a “mud run” and other events to help offset funeral costs.
Shain Gandee’s accident follows a young child who passed away several months ago as he sat inside his family’s vehicle while his dad dug the car out of a snow bank.
