‘GTA 5’ Box Art, Screen Shots Surface
GTA 5, better known as Grand Theft Auto 5 has finally released the official box art. Staying true to form for the series the next art looks quite a bit like the previous covers.
The new screenshots on the other hand seem to be showing off some of the best graphics that the game has been able to offer.
The game was actually slated to be released earlier this year but was eventually pushed back to September.
The company never gave much of a reason for why they had to push the game’s release date back but there had been speculation that next generation systems might have played a part.
GTA 5 developer Rockstar Games posted the new cover art to their Twitter account this morning and that picture was in line with a mural that had been painted on a wall in Chelsea, New York.
Clearly the tried and true artwork that has been around since the game was first introduced on the Sony Playstation 2 has served the franchise well and there isn’t reall a reason to depart from that style these days.
Grand Theft Auto 5‘s new cover features the three rumored protagonists of the game with the main character at the bottom holding a handgun. There are also apparently some scenes from the game scattered about on the mosaic picture.
The official release date will be well in advance of the Holiday shopping season and that could be good news for a game series that is basically reintroducing itself after a rather long layoff from one title to the next.
Considering that the game isn’t set to be released until September 17, these pictures and art are actually hitting the general public quite early compared to other titles.

Grand Theft Auto 5 will be available for both the Sony Playstation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360. Whether there will be a version made available for the Wii U or the next generation consoles isn’t clear at this time.
