White House Plays April Fools’ Prank, Introduces Kid President [Video]
It’s April Fools’ Day today, and that can only mean one thing: You shouldn’t believe anything you see on the internet. No, there’s no such thing as the new Gmail blue. And no, YouTube is not shutting down. And in case you were fooled by an official White House video today, no, President Obama did not turn into a child last night.
The White House had a little fun with the annual holiday by releasing “A Special Message From The President.”
Only, Obama wasn’t the one who took to the podium. Instead, a little boy dressed up in a suit and tie delivered a message to the nation.
According to MSNBC, the Kid President was played by 10-year-old Robbie Novak.
Robbie said: “It looks like you were expecting somebody else. Well, April Fools on all of y’all. I’m kid president and I hope everyone has an awesome day.”
Robbie has been playing the Kid President in a series of YouTube videos for the last year.
According to KidPresident.com, Robbie, as well as his older brother-in-law, Brad Montague, they created the series because they “believe kids can change the world. We also believe grownups can change the world. It just takes all of us working together.”
Here’s the White House’s April Fool’s Day prank.
