Dax Shepard And Kristen Bell Welcome Baby Daughter

Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are parents! It was announced the couple of six years welcomed a daughter by the name of Lincoln this Thursday.

Via Shepard’s Twitter, the Parenthood actor announced the birth of his baby daughter, tweeting: “Lincoln Bell Shepard is here.” The funny man, who got his start alongside Ashton Kutcher in Punk’d couldn’t resist a few jokes, tweeting in excitement, “She has mom’s beauty and dad’s obsession with breasts. Hooray!”

Prior to the birth of their daughter, Veronica Mars actress Kristen Bell tweeted a photo of her dog Lola resting on her bare stomach, with the caption “Eavesdropping.”

The happy couple announced they were expecting a little one back in November. Despite being engaged since 2009, the couple addressed why they’re putting their nuptials on hold. Last August, during an interview on CNN Bell and Shepard said they would get married when all of their friends could, noting that their gay and lesbian friends still had to wait because of Prop 8. Bell elaborated, saying, “I don’t believe in standing in the way of love, and I want to stand up for that right.” During an interview with Larry King Live, Bell explained how she’s “not really worried” about having kids out of wed lock.

Earlier we reported the touching moment Dax Shepard’s late father had with baby Lincoln. Remembered in a touching tumblr post by Shepard, Dax posted a picture of his father Dave, who was battling cancer at the time. The photo, which tugged at many fans heartstrings showed father Dave with his hand on Bell’s pregnant belly.

In the post Shepard wrote:
“At one point, and unbeknownst to both of us, my wife walked into the room. She had flown in from L.A. [to Detroit] without any warning. It was a surprise. It was an amazing, incredible, perfectly timed surprise. She lifted her shirt up and he put his hand on her swollen stomach. He left it there for the better part of an hour.”

Despite the heartbreaking situation of Shepard’s father losing his battle with cancer, the two didn’t lose their fun-loving spirit. During an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres show, Bell said about her pregnancy:

“I feel like, when I arrive at the hospital, I want a glass of whiskey, I want the epidural in my back and I want to get hit in the face with a baseball bat and wake me up when it’s over because I’ve seen the videos — and it looks terrifying.”

With parents like Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, little Lincoln is sure to have one big sense of humor.
