CBS Renews 18 Shows For Next Season

CBS has renewed 18 of its prime time television shows for the 2013-2014 season.

The top-rated network revealed quite a few renewals in its recent announcement. Although some series didn’t make it onto the list, the network said this doesn’t mean the shows in question have been cancelled.

Some of the programs CBS decided to renew for next season should come as absolutely no surprise. The network’s hit series Big Bang Theory will return for another go-around, as will NCIS and Elementary. The news magazine 60 Minutes is also slated to come back next season.

Other comedies that are getting picked up include Mike and Molly, Two Broke Girls, and How I Met Your Mother. The David Spade comedy Rules of Engagement was not included on the recent list released by CBS. However, the show could get renewed down the road.

On the drama front, Blue Bloods, Hawaii Five-O, and Person of Interest are coming back next season. The series C.S.I. has been renewed as well.

Several of CBS’ realities shows are also on the schedule for next season. Survivor, Undercover Boss, and The Amazing Race are all expected to return. In addition to 60 Minutes, 48 Hours has been picked up by the network.

One show that didn’t make it onto the list is Two and a Half Men. Although the fate of the show was unclear after the very public outburst from co-star Angus T. Jones, the network is said to be discussing another season.
