Gucci Mane Headed To Jail After Surrendering To Police
Gucci Mane is headed to jail after turning himself over to police on Tuesday night.
Police booked the rapper in Georgia’s Fulton County Jail after he surrendered. Authorities have been on the lookout for the musician after he allegedly struck a soldier in the head with a bottle at an Atlanta nightclub.
Gucci Mane, who was born Radric Davis, faces a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon for his behavior in the club. It’s currently unknown if he has an attorney.
The rapper was accused of breaking a bottle of champagne over the head of James Lettley during an encounter at the Harlem Nights Club in Atlanta on March 16. The victim said he only wanted to pose for a picture with the rapper when the incident took place.
After the soldier informed police about the situation, they issued a warrant for Gucci Mane’s arrested. He was on tour for nearly a week before turning himself over to authorities. The rapper and actor is currently sitting in a Georgia jail.
Lettley said last week that he approached a security guard near the VIP room at the Harlem Nights Club about getting his picture taken with the rapper. He was soon attacked by Gucci Mane with the bottle. The assault caused a “severe laceration to the top of his head.”
The soldier said he visited an area hospital for treatment. Lettley ended up with 10 stitches in his head as a result of the attack.
The rapper was accused of striking another fan at a club in Philadelphia only days after this Atlanta incident took place. A man known only as TJ explained that he approached Gucci Mane to shake his hand when he was unexpectedly punched in the face.
“I haven’t ever been so humiliated in my life and disrespected. He punched me on the left side of my face, right here in the jaw, knocking off my glasses,” TJ explained. “I sustained a chipped tooth in the back. I sustained also swelling on the left side.”
Do you think Gucci Mane should spend time in jail if he’s found guilty of attacking his fans?
