Harrison Ford Quiet On ‘Star Wars’ Rumors
Want some news about the new Star Wars movies? Don’t ask Harrison Ford. The 70-year-old actor isn’t talking about his involvement in the new movies. At least not yet.
Rumors have been circulating that Ford would reprise the role of Han Solo for the new movie but the actor hasn’t confirmed the news.
Ford was asked a couple of questions about Star Wars this week while he was promoting his new movie 42. Needless to say, Ford was less than cooperative.
When asked if he was surprised about making more movies, Ford zipped his lips. When asked if he had talked to J.J. Abrams recently, Ford said “About what?” And when asked if he was excited for the new movies, Ford said: “I don’t feel anything at the moment yet.”
So is Harrison Ford returning to Star Wars?
The biggest indication that Han Solo will return comes from an interview with George Lucas last month. Lucas said that he was talking to Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher about reprising the roles. Lucas said that they were all talking about the new movie but that no contracts had been signed yet.
The Seattle Times points to some other good news. In a previous interview, Ford said that he was really impressed with J.J. Abrams. Ford worked with Abrams on the movie Regarding Henry and said that he was really impressed with the director.
Ford said: “I think he’s fantastic … I did his first movie, ‘Regarding Henry,’ with Mike Nichols. A wonderful talent. Extraordinary guy.”
So will Harrison Ford join Star Wars? Ford said: “Um, I don’t even want to discuss that. It’s great. Ain’t it great?”
