‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Cast Revealed
Are you excited about the Teenage Mutant Turtles coming to the big screen? Days ago we reported that the role of Raphael went to actor Alan Ritchson, and now it looks like the film is ready to go with all turtles cast, which is a surprise seeing as it’s been pushed back before.
The Michael Bay-CGI produced Ninja Turtles film will be rebooted for this generation. Instead of the actors putting on turtle suits, today’s technology will go a long way. What was made famous in Lord of The Rings franchise with Gollum and Avatar, will now be the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles look through motion capture and CGI.
The actors to experiment in motion capture as the turtles are Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, and Noel Fisher. While Ritchson will play Raphael, Ploszek will play Leonardo, and Howard will be playing Donatello. Lastly Noel Fisher of Twilight: Breaking Dawn 2 will be playing Michaelangelo.
The new plot is a bit of a departure for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film: “Aliens invade Earth and inadvertently spawn a quartet of mutated reptile warriors, the Ninja Turtles, who rise up against them to defend the world.”
Since the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first hit the scene in 1990, the franchise hasn’t really gone completely away from children. Figurines are still sold on Toys R Us shelves, and earlier in March a trailer for the new video game was released.
Everyone has something to gain from the new turtles film. With all of the actors basically unknowns this casting may put them on kids radars and make them stars. However, they are still playing turtles, and their faces won’t be part of the iconic turtle franchise unless the studio decides to emphasize on the actors outside of their motion capture gig. Still, it’s a pretty incredible opportunity for the actors, who will also all be opposite mega star Megan Fox, who is said to play reporter April O’Neil.
One of the most pivotal roles, the role of Shredder is said to be announced shortly.
