Fergie’s Baby Bump, Lady Lumps Make Nick Awards Appearance

At the 2013 Kids’ Choice Awards, Fergie’s baby bump was the talk of the red carpet.

As the first-time mom stepped out wearing one of her first big maternity looks for the show, Fergie’s baby bump humor was evident in that the star didn’t go for understated or muted at all.

Fergie instead donned an aquarium-print dress, blue with coral, fish and other sea life.

The first-time mom-to-be sat near Selena Gomez and Katy Perry, who lavished attention on the Black Eyed Peas singer as she made one of her first high-profile appearances after Fergie and Josh Duhamel admitted they were expecting.

Last week, the artist also known as Stacy Ferguson went on Good Morning America to discuss impending motherhood and how she and Duhamel were handling it.

For her Thursday GMA visit, Fergie’s baby bump got a quieter fashion statement in kelly green, and the singer explained:

“We’re thrilled. I know that my husband told everybody what I said. My quote when we found out — ‘This blank just got real.’ But it’s true, when that moment occurs to you, there’s going to be a human being growing inside of you .. it’s reality. It’s amazing, we’re thrilled.”

But Fergie admits pregnancy is not an instant track to know it all mommyhood. The star happily concedes that she, like all first-time moms, isn’t an expert just yet — she says:

“I have no idea what I’m doing! … I’m just going to play it by ear and see how things go, and let the natural instincts kick in.”
