James McAvoy, Danny Boyle Attend ‘Trance’ Premiere In London [Photos]
Director Danny Boyle and star James McAvoy were among the many famous faces at the London premiere of Trance on Tuesday (March 19).
The Trainspotting director’s latest offering casts McAvoy as an art auctioneer who gets wrapped up in the theft of a priceless painting. When he gets knocked on the head during the robbery, he forgets where he stashed the artwork.
In order to figure out where he hid the painting, the auctioneer enlists the help of a hypnotherapist. It doesn’t very long for things to go completely haywire.
In addition to James McAvoy, Danny Boyle’s Trance also stars Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Seven Pounds) and French actor Vincent Cassel (Black Swan). Images from the London premiere are included in the gallery below.
The upcoming thriller is Boyle’s first cinematic effort since his 2010 drama 127 Hours. He was most recently involved with putting together the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony. The director recently announced that he was interested in getting a sequel to his 1996 classic Trainspotting into theaters by 2016.
As for James McAvoy, the actor has quite a few projects currently on-deck. He’s famously attached to star in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. The project will find him reprising his role as Professor Charles Xavier. The film sports a huge cast including Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, and Halle Berry.
McAvoy is also slated to star in director Jon S. Baird’s Filth. The film, an adaptation of author Irvine Welsh’s novel, follows drug-addled cop Bruce Robertson as he contends with the Christmas season. Jamie Bell, Jim Broadbent, and Imogen Poots co-star.
Although Trance is scheduled to arrive in UK theaters on March 27, the film won’t arrive in the US until next month.
The trailer for the upcoming thriller has been embedded below. The clip does contain some violent and suggestive imagery, so viewer discretion is advised.
