The Last of Us will have a single player campaign that will take between 12 and 16 hours to play through. The game, which is expected to be released this year, will reportedly change and evolve based on how it is played, lending itself to a rather large window of fluctuating time.

Arne Miller, the community strategist for the game’s developer Naughty Dog, said that the length of the single player campaign will depend on how it is approached . Miller said that “you can play a little bit slower if you try to approach situations stealthy, if you really wanna explore the environment and scavenge”

The Last of Us centers around Joel and his daughter Ella. The two survivors are trying to make their way through a world that has been ravaged by a fungus that possesses and turns them into zombie like creatures. One of the ways this world will be rendered will be quite a bit more colorful than other post apocalyptic nightmares as the world will be overgrown by vegetation.

The PS3 exclusive zombie title is slightly different than others that have been released lately because the “zombies” are not the only enemies. Joel and Ella will encounter other human beings that are not remotely friendly. Miller says that the humans have been built so that they will actually react to your characters.

If Joel has his gun out, the human enemies will react far more cautiously than if its obvious that you can’t shoot them straight off. The parasitic fungus zombies will also interact differently depended on what class they are.

Some of the infected will be able to see the characters easily while others will use sonar to find their pray.

The Last of Us was originally slated to be released on May 7, but there have been delays in the production and the title will now not be out until June 14 .
