Tom Cruise, Cher Dated In The 80s

There’s a new couple in town. Well, there was. More than thirty years has past since their romance but the cat is finally out of the bag: Tom Cruise and Cher dated.

The relationship was never a secret but the celebrity romance was forgotten by most because, well, it’s just not normal to keep track of all of your favorite celebrity’s ex-boyfriends and girlfriends.

Thankfully, Snakkle.com dug through the archives and found a few forgotten celebrity relationships. At the top of the interesting list was Tom Cruise and Cher.

The website reports that Cruise and Cher dated sometime after Risky Business(1983) but before The Color of Money (1986). Cruise was about 23-years-old at the time and Cher was closing in on 40.

In 2008, Cher opened up about the romance saying: “It was a long, long time ago and neither one of us ever talked about it and I don’t know why. When we were together he was such a private person. He always has been until lately. He didn’t mention it and I didn’t mention it. I loved him though, he was amazing.”

Cher said that they broke up because they were both too busy with their careers.

Cher added: “It was after Risky Business and right before The Color of Money. I couldn’t go to Chicago and that was kind of the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
