Judge Judy could soon find herself in court. Yep, the TV personality is reportedly being sued by the ex-wife of one of her producers over a collection of expensive fine china.
TMZ reports that the lawsuit involves producer Randy Douthit, his ex-wife Patric Jones, and Judge Judith Sheindlin .
Douthit allegedly sold Sheindlin a set of dishes worth more than $500,000 for just $50,000. Jones claims that Douthit made the sale in order to prevent her from obtaining the dishes in the divorce.
The lawsuit claims that Judge Judy knew that Douthit was selling her the dishes in order to cheat Jones out of her divorce settlement. The lawsuit also claims that Douthit started to take a smaller percentage from The Judge Judy Show in order to minimize his divorce payout.
Sheindlin said that Jones should spend more time looking for a job than filing lawsuits.
Judge Judy said : “I have not seen any complaint by the former Mrs. Douthit, however, I don’t owe this lady a cent… And if this 50-year-old woman would spend her time more productively at trying to find a job, instead of abusing the judicial system with frivolous lawsuits, we would all be a lot better off.”
Jones’ lawyer, however, has a different message: “In California, which is a community property state, sales of community property assets are voidable if both parties do not consent. And my client did not consent to this sale.”

Judge Judy deals frequently with divorces, breakups, and property issues on her show and she obviously knows the law. Of course, that doesn’t mean that she’s above it.
Do you think Judge Judy will have to give the dishes back?
