Injustice: Gods Among Us is getting DLC based on the Blackest Night storyline.
NetherRealm Studios upcoming brawler is getting in on the zombie craze with a unique expansion that introduces undead superheroes into the storyline. The embedded trailer showcases a number of characters that have seemingly risen from the grave.
The Blackest Night comic book storyline explores what happens when Nekron decides he wants to destroy life as we know it. In order to accomplish his sinister mission, the villain resurrects several dead superheroes to do his bidding.
The Injustice: Gods Among Us DLC will give players an opportunity to wage epic battles using zombified versions of their favorite heroes. The clip below showcases a number of characters as undead minions, including Batman, Catwoman, and Solomon Grundy.
The trailer suggests that these new skins and modes will be available to those who pre-order the game through Amazon. While this offer is currently available to those folks who live in Germany, it’s unclear if the same offer will be extended in other parts of the world.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has yet to confirm anything about the expansion’s availability in the States as of this writing. If the Blackest Night DLC isn’t offered to Amazon users outside of Germany, then chances are it will be available as a purchase at some point down the road.
Folks who pre-order Injustice: Gods Among Us through Gamestop will get access to the Red Son DLC. The storyline takes place in an alternate universe which finds Superman landing in the Ukraine instead of the United States.
In addition to some new skins for a handful of select characters, the Red Son expansion gives players 20 additional missions to work their way through. Those who decide not to pre-order the game will likely have access to this particular DLC in the near future.
Although NetherRealm Studios has only announced Blackest Knight and Red Son DLC packs as of this writing, chances are the developer has other add-ons planned for later this year.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is slated to arrive for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii U on April 16. Are you looking forward to NetherRealm’s latest brawler? Will you pre-order the game to get the Blackest Knight DLC if it’s available outside of Germany?
