‘Horrible Bosses 2’ To Be Released


Horribel Bosses 2 is set to go into pre-production, after the original’s stars, Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day signed up for the sequel.

Jamie Foxx, who starred as the “murder consultant” Motherf***** Jones in the 2011 comedy, in also in negotiations to reprise his role, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Director Seth Gordon is set to get behind the camera again for the film, whilst John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who wrote the original, have return to scribe the movie. Brett Ratner, Jay Stern and John Cheng will produce.

Horrible Bosses was a surprise hit in 2011, after it grossed over $209 million across the world from just a budget of $35 million.

The second movie is set to have a new set of bosses, after Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey, and Colin Farrell starred in the original. Aniston and Spacey could make a cameo, whilst it might be quite hard to make Farrell return.

Horrible Bossess starred the comedians, Bateman, Sudeikis, and Day, each of whom are alumni of the television sitcoms, Arrested Development, Saturday Night Live, and It’s Always In Philadelphia respectively, and revolved around their attempts to murder their abusive bosses.

Bateman’s latest comedy, Identity Thief, which co-starred Melissa McCarthy, generated over $110 million at the box office recently, whilst Day will next be seen in Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim. Sudeilkis’ We’re The Millers, which co-stars Aniston, will be released in August.

In 2011, Gordon revealed that there had been talks about a sequel, telling USA Today when asked about a follow-up, “We’re talking about it.”

He also stated that he would like to have Colin Farrell’s character Bobby Pellitt return, despite the fact that he was killed in the first movie.

Gordon stated, “I feel like it would be a shame [to] not have Bobby Pellitt [back]. Maybe in some sort of dream sequence.”
