Seth Rogen’s Directorial Debut ‘This is the End’ Releases New Still
While some families will be heading to see Oz: The New And Powerful, Franco fans can count on another box office fair for the actor in June. Franco, along with Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride and Jay Baruchel, play skewed versions of their public persona’s in Rogen’s directorial debut This is the End.
In This is the End the boys are stuck captive in Franco’s swanky Los Angeles home, as the actor throws an end of the world party to celebrate the hoopla around 2012. Unfortunately for the gang of friends, the Mayan prophecy comes true, and they find themselves in the middle of a real life apocalypse in Los Angeles.
The second still from This is the End has been released by Entertainment Weekly. The project first started as a short between Rogen and Jay Baruchel, called Jay and Seth vs The Apocalypse. As everyone’s careers rose to the top , Rogen decided to launch the idea full scale and include practically everyone from the Judd Apatow school of comedy.
Of the project, Rogen told Entertainment Weekly, “I don’t think any of us were as well known a few years ago as we are now. That helps the movie a lot — everyone has much more preconceived notions about, say, Franco and Jonah and me and Danny than they did 5 years ago.”
Right before the apocalypse was set to happen, Rogen and Franco launched a teaser trailer for the film, which showed the two actors in Franco’s bunker preparing for the end of the world, before they launched the red band teaser trailer. This is the End features everything one would expect in a Rogen/Franco collaboration. Just from the look we have already seen, it’s extremely foul-mouthed, but ridiculously hilarious.
This is the End hits theaters June 14.
