It’s the question at the back of every Marvel fan’s mind: Will we see another standalone Hulk film? Studios and producers haven’t written off the idea completely, but actor Mark Ruffalo (the current Hulk) said that at the very least, we won’t see his angry green giant until Avengers 2 .
Most recently, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk was rumored to possibly play a role in Iron Man 3 , thanks to leaked concept art showing Hulkbuster armor (its presence later confirmed by the latest trailer). On top of that, there have also been rumors that sooner or later, there will be some sort of “ Planet Hulk ” plot worked into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
That was a ways off, but Marvel wizard Joss Whedon said the idea was “nonsense,” and it seems like everyone is just concentrating on The Avengers 2 for now … including Mark Ruffalo.
Ruffalo settled the rumor mill on Twitter Wednesday night, saying that while he wants to do a standalone Hulk movie at some point, nothing is planned until Avengers 2 comes out.
His comments dovetail with those of Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, who said back in September 2012 that while Hulk could carry his own movie, he probably won’t get the chance until after Avengers 2 .
“Do I think Hulk can carry a movie and be as entertaining as he was in Avengers ? I do believe that. I do believe he absolutely could,” Feige said, adding, “We certainly are not even going to attempt that until Avengers 2 . So there’s a lot of time to think about it.”
A lot of folks have been asking about the Next Hulk. The next time you see my Hulk it will be in the Avengers2. No plans for stand alone.

I am not giving up on another stand alone HULK. But it’s not in the works right now. One never knows what the future will bring.

Ruffalo’s Hulk probably works better as a slightly unstable part of a slightly unstable team anyway. More of that action is expected in The Avengers 2 , which will make its way to theaters in 2015.
“I’ve got the next story, and it’s a corker,” Whedon recently said of what the story might be like. “I haven’t even been thinking in terms of superhero movies. The films I’ve been thinking about are The Godfather Part II and The Empire Strikes Back . Those are the stars by which I chart my course.”
Are you a fan of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk? Can you wait until The Avengers 2 to see him again?
