Lena Headey: Husband Too Reckless To Care For Child After Posing With AK47

Lena Headey says her husband is “too reckless” to care for the couple’s 2-year-old son, and a judge who agreed has now blocked him from taking the boy to Ireland.

The Game of Thrones star has accused husband Peter Loughran of putting the child in dangerous situations. Lena Headey’s husband has allegedly posting pictures on Facebook showing him posing with an AK47 assault rifle, the Daily Mail reported.

A judge agreed with Headey, blocking Loughran’s request to take his son to Ireland.

Lena Headey also claims her husband has a drinking problem and that he had been drinking before an incident when his car drifted into oncoming traffic, the Daily Mail reported.

The couple, who has a son named Wylie together, broke up in July after five years of marriage. The Huffington Post reported at the time that details of the divorce were scarce, but that Headey cited “irreconcilable differences” in documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Lena Headey, who also appeared in the movie 300, is set to appear in the movie Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. The film’s tentative release date in August.

Lena now splits time between Los Angeles and Northern Ireland where Game of Thrones is filmed. The working mother said it’s a hard situation sometimes.

“My son is in L.A. So every second I have, I go home,” Headey told her hometown paper, the Huddersfield Examiner. “I fly between the two. Busily.”

The divorce was expensive for Lena Headey and her husband. After the split, the couple reportedly dumped their expensive home in Hollywood Hills at a big loss. After paying $1.8 million four years ago, she sold it for $1.35 million.

Though the couple actually separated in 2011, Lena Headey continued to speak of him on good terms. In an interview this summer, she told Zap2it:

“He’s not an actor, he’s a normal man. Well, he’s not normal; he’s Irish, but you know what I mean. We met at a friend’s wedding and had a little dance together; it was pretty serious, right from the start.”

Lena Headey has not spoken much publicly about the split with her husband.

The actress wasn’t afraid to pull out the big guns when going to court, however, quite literally. In her petition to the judge, Lena Headey showed her husband in shirtless poses while holding the AK47. She claimed that as evidence that Loughran lacked in good judgment and didn’t deserve to be alone with the toddler.
