‘Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’ Officially Unveiled By Ubisoft
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has officially been unveiled by the folks at Ubisoft.
The company was set to release a flood of new information on Monday (March 4). However, a series of leaks over the weekend essentially beat them to the punch.
According to USA Today, Ubisoft has officially pulled back the curtain on the next installment of the popular series. The latest addition to the franchise will find players tackling the role of a pirate named Edward Kenway.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag director Ashraf Ismail said the game will explore the “inner turmoil” of the character as he embarks on his high seas adventures.
Ismail stated the sequel will be the biggest entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise thus far. Black Flag will also introduce naval battles into gameplay. The director explained that everything will be seamless, from boarding enemy vessels to hopping off a ship to explore an exotic locale.
Gamespot explains that players will have around 50 locations to visit in no less than three large cities. Gamers will also be able to explore the ocean floor as they search for buried treasure.
Assassin’s Creed IV will give players a crew to manage during their adventures. Should you fail to keep these relationships healthy, then your trips across the ocean will suddenly become very lonely. Although they won’t mutiny, your crew will abandon ship.
Ismail told IGN that everything players do in the game will contribute to the sense of progression. Should you pull a chest filled with riches out of the ocean, this act will contribute to Black Flag’s evolution.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will makes its way onto retail shelves on October 29. The game will be available for a wide variety of systems, include Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Wii U, and PC It’s also rumored the title will be available for the Xbox 720 should it arrive before the end of the year.
