Pregnant Kate Middleton Hits Up Swiss Ski Resort, But Avoids The Slopes

Pregnant Kate Middleton isn’t letting her second trimester slow her down.

After a rocky start to her pregnancy that included morning sickness so severe she needed to be hospitalized, Middleton has recovered well enough to hit up a ski vacation. Kate and husband Prince William were seen at a ski resort in Arosa, Switzerland, where they were attending the wedding of friends Laura Bechtolsheimer and Mark Tomlinson.

While Prince William and his brother Prince Harry were seen hitting the ski slopes, a very pregnant Kate Middleton was spotted taking a walk in the snow, jacket in hand, E! News reported. But though skiing is not recommended for those who are pregnant, it wasn’t all taking it easy for the Duchess of Cambridge. Kate was later seen winding her way down a winding slope on a wooden toboggan.

At the getaway, the royal couple stayed at a five-star hotel owned by the billionaire grandfather of the bride, Hello! reported. William and Kate stayed in a suite that’s normally close to $5,000 per night, and the wedding hosts were sensitive to her condition — while the other guests got ski passes, they provided the traditional wooden toboggan so Kate could have some fun as well.

That wasn’t all for Middleton, either. She joined William and other guests for a pre-wedding celebration at a mountainside restaurant where they all dined on a traditional Swiss cheese dish, a party that cost a reported $20,000.

In February, Kate made just her second “official” appearance since she announced her pregnancy last year. Middleton appeared at a South London center for women who were recovering from alcohol and drug addictions. While it may have been her second time appearing in official duties, just about every outing during Kate’s pregnancy has been documented by photographers.
