‘RHOA’ Star Kenya Moore: Honey Boo Boo Looks Like A ‘Glorified Hooker’
Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Kenya Moore isn’t a fan of 7-year-old Alana Thompson, better known as Honey Boo Boo.
Moore, who is a former Miss USA, told In Touch magazine, “Honey Boo Boo is not a role model for young women. Her mother puts her onstage looking like a glorified hooker!”
Moore also felt that Honey Boo Boo’s mother, June Shannon, should keep in mind that beauty pageants aren’t just about winning trophies.
“Pageants are about having poise and promoting self-esteem and self-worth,” Moore said. “When a little girl wears a lot of makeup, fake teeth and extensions, like hookers do — that’s just not appropriate.”
Moore’s idea of what is and isn’t appropriate is questionable, to say the least. After all, Moore showed up to a fundraiser wearing a bathing suit and fishnet dress with booty pads to mock fellow cast member, Phaedra Parks. The two have been engaged in a “battle of the booties,” with Moore pushing her “Booty Boot Camp” workout videos and Parks peddling her “Donkey Booty” workout videos.
The incident caused Parks to call Moore out, saying she was a bipolar alcoholic. Moore fired back, explaining that her mother suffered from a mental illness and that terms like “bipolar” shouldn’t be thrown around for revenge.
Kenya Moore won the Miss Michigan USA title in 1993 before going on to win Miss USA. She was the second titleholder from Michigan and second African-American winner. She also placed fifth in the Miss Universe pageant that year.
What do you think of Kenya Moore’s comments about Honey Boo Boo? Did she go too far saying a 7-year-old looks like a “glorified hooker”?
