Ronda Rousey Offered ‘Hunger Games’ Role [Report]
Could UFC star Ronda Rousey appear in the next Hunger Games film?
Rousey made UFC history last Saturday by winning the first ever women’s title fight in the sport. She’s a rising star and, according to FoxSports, the entertainment industry has taken notice.
Word is, the UFC champ has been offered a role in an upcoming Hunger Games sequel. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer also reported the news, though what film or role she’s been offered is completely unknown, as the rumor is just that at this point.
Catching Fire, the first sequel in the Jennifer Lawrence-lead Hunger Games franchise, has already been filmed, so it’s likely that the report puts Rousey in the planned two-part third entry, Mockingjay.
If the rumor is true, Rousey has plenty to keep her busy until shooting on Mockingjay begins. Rousey’s possible next opponent in the octagon is already itching for blood.
Business Insider reports that Rousey beat Liz Carmouche in the UFC 157, turning the fight around and nearly breaking Carmouche’s arm with an armbar with 11 seconds remaining in the first round.
In a post-fight interview, Miesha Tate, who Rousey has already faced – and beaten – once before, was not impressed by the victory.
“I got her on her back in the first fight, and a guarantee if I get her in the second one I’m gonna rip her face off,” Tate remarked.
Tough trash talk, but Tate still has to beat Cat Zingano before she gets a rematch with Rousey.
What do you think? Would Ronda Rousey make a good addition to the cast of the Hunger Games franchise?
