Jim Carrey, Steve Carell Square Off In New ‘The Incredible Burt Wonderstone’ Clip [Video]
Jim Carrey and Steve Carell share an intensely comical moment in the latest clip from The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.
Director Don Scardino’s flick finds the comedians squaring off against one another in the competitive world of magic and illusion. Carell stars as an old school Las Vegas magician who is threatened by a modern illusionist who is taking the world by storm.
The new Incredible Burt Wonderstone clip finds Jim Carrey and Steve Carell squaring off inside a “magician’s bar.” Although the exchange itself is certainly amusing, Carrey’s exit from the scene is the clip’s strongest moment.
New Line Cinema describes the film as follows:
“Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) have ruled the Las Vegas strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt’s growing ego. But lately the duo’s greatest deception is their public friendship, while secretly they’ve grown to loathe each other. Facing cutthroat competition from guerilla street magician Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), whose cult following surges with each outrageous stunt, even their show looks stale. But there’s still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act—both onstage and off — if Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place.”
In addition to Carell, Carrey, and Buscemi, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone also counts Olivia Wilde, Alan Arkin, James Gandolfini, Jay Mohr, and Michael Bully Herbig among the cast.
Director Don Scardino has worked on a number of hit television shows over the years, including 30 Rock, Law & Order, and Rescue Me. The filmmaker directed the romantic comedy Advice from a Caterpillar in 1999 and Me and Veronica in 1993.
