Rob Gronkowski Has Surgery On Broken Forearm To Clear Up Infection
As if Rob Gronkowski didn’t have enough injury troubles, there is now a report that New England Patriots tight end needed surgery last week on the same forearm that he broke multiple times this season.
The surgery was to clear up an infection that Gronkowski acquired, and doctors said they caught it early enough that the tight end won’t miss any extended time, ESPN reported.
Rob Gronkowski first broke his left arm on November 18 against the Indianapolis Colts. That initial break caused him to miss five games, but Gronkowski didn’t stay healthy for long. After returning in the regular-season finale, he broke the arm again early in the Patriots divisional-round playoff game against the Houston Texans.
Lately, Gronkowski’s off-the-field actions have gotten him more attention that his play or injury troubles. Earlier this month a video emerged of him wrestling with some friends at a Las Vegas nightclub, despite the fact he was still had his broken forearm in a cast.
It was later reported that the horseplay session took place during a night of pretty serious partying in which he racked up a tab of more than $9,000. According to the Daily Mail, Gronkowski spent $1,595 on a magnum bottle of Perrier-Jouer brut and three bottles of Grey Goose vodka that cost more than $500 each.
Deadspin reported that Gronkowski spent quite a bit on the tip as well, leaving the waitress $1400.
