Taylor Swift And Harry Styles Relationship Was A Hoax [Report]

Brace yourselves, tweeny-boppers. The high-profile yet short-lived romance between Taylor Swift and Harry Styles may have been completely fake. What a shocker.

What am I saying here? That Taylor Swift and Harry Styles were a hoax. A publicity stunt. A whole lot of B.S. drummed up for headlines, exposure, and heck, maybe songwriting material. The relationship was manufactured by publicists and managers for the express purpose of separating you from your hard earned money, honey.

Hollywood Life reports that the fake relationship was the basis for Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble,” her latest heartbreak tune available on iTunes and the singer’s website.

But wait, rewind. How do we know that the relationship was bunk? MSN reports that a new Harry Styles biography (yes, he has his own biographies) by Louisa Jepson suggests that the One Direction team “went to great lengths to put the two together because she’s such a huge star.”

“Anytime Taylor starts dating a new guy she gets a flurry of media attention, and her break-ups receive even more,” Jepson adds, as if we didn’t know.

Still, if it’s all an act, Swift is playing along convincingly. Her performance of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” at the Grammy Awards this month saw the singer deliberately affect an English accent, a pretty direct message to Styles. Weeks later, Swift refused to even look at Styles during the BRIT Awards.

Here’s my theory. The entire relationship was indeed bullsh**, but only on Harry Styles’ side. I submit to you that Swift has been over-playing the jilted lover with Styles, which doesn’t really benefit anyone in the end. So maybe Swift broke the thing off when she realized she was being played.

Then again, I could be wrong. Either way, I’m not terribly surprised.

What do you think? Could Taylor Swift’s relationship with Harry Styles have been faked for publicity?
