Justin Timberlake To Pull Double Duty As Saturday Night Live Host
Justin Timberlake is back in the building. The NBC building that is. Justin has been tapped to host and perform on Saturday Night Live for the first time since 2011.
Back in 2011, Justin Timberlake only took on hosting duties and left the musical guest spot up to Lady Gaga, which also resulted in a pretty amusing short video featuring Gaga, Timberlake, and Andy Samberg’s Lonely Island crew. The last time Justin pulled both duties was when he was promoting his last album FutureSex/LoveSounds in 2006.
This time around, in promotion for his album The 20/20 Experience, which will be his first in six years, Timberlake is set to star in the sketches and sing. Since it looks like his song “Mirrors” is doing well since he released it online following the Grammys, we think he may perform that song in addition to his already chart topping “Suit & Tie.”
Since Saturday Night Live is in New York, we wonder if Jay-Z will make a guest appearance. Usually Timberlake brings a bunch of his friends along with him, and these days it looks like he’s pretty tight with Jay. Another question is if Timberlake will do another hilarious short video? This seems to be the biggest question seeing since Andy Samberg departed from SNL last year and is no longer part of the cast.
By now Timberlake has a whole slew of on going sketches he’s great at including the dancing and singing street performer and, of course, his Bee Gees skit with Jimmy Fallon.
Speaking of Jimmy Fallon, in addition to SNL, Timberlake will be on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon for the whole week of March 11-15. His episode for Saturday Night Live will air on March 9. Looks like a jam packed schedule for a hugely missed performer.
