Mila Kunis To Quit Acting For Future With Ashton Kutcher
Is Mila Kunis quitting acting for good? Her Playboy interview with friend and constant collaborator James Franco may suggest just that. The two Oz: The Great And Powerful co-stars got together to discuss Kunis’ current sexiest woman alive status, her future in the industry, and what she thinks about those pesky paparazzo’s that follow her around wherever she goes.
When the subject turned into aging in the industry, Kunis, 29, admitted that she doesn’t know if she will be able to act forever. The reason behind her uncertainty seems to be her desire to settle down with boyfriend Ashton Kutcher. The pair have been dating for nearly a year now, and while she has barely commented on it, and has suggested they’re just having fun, her discussion with Franco states otherwise.
When asked why she may quit acting, or why she doesn’t see herself acting forever, Kunis had this to say:
“Realistically speaking, it’s hard. You have to choose: privacy or career.I also think in this industry, age is particular to women versus men. Why? Because that’s just how it is.”
When Franco suggests that there’s actresses that have careers outside of their late 20’s to early 30’s, notably Meryl Streep, Kunis counters:
“If I’m lucky enough to have a career remotely close to hers, great. If I’m not, I’m not going with the expectation of having one, because that will ultimately slow me down. It’s one in a million; it’s not the reality. I want to be a present mom. I’m never in the same place for more than two months. How am I ever going to have a family like that? You have to make compromises.”
If Mila Kunis quits acting is she perpetuating a stereotype of aging women in the industry, or do you think she’s just being a realist and doing what she wants with her life?
