Kristen Wiig Is Playing Who On ‘Arrested Development’? (Hint: Not Lucille 2)
Saturday Night Live alum Kristen Wiig is joining Netflix’s Arrested Development revival as none-other than eccentric Bluth matriarch Lucille.
Vulture reports that the Bridesmaids star has signed on for the Arrested Development revival for a spate of guest appearances as a young Lucille Bluth (played by Jessica Walter).
Arrested Development is set to premiere its season 4 revival on Netflix in May, and Wiig is the latest addition to the list of new cast members to get us excited once again for the show that was gone too soon.
Since Wiig will be taking on a young Lucille Bluth (presumably in flashbacks, but details are under wraps) we’re wondering what other Arrested mainstays will be cast with younger (hilarious) actors. Will we see a younger version of Liza Minnelli’s Lucille 2? A younger George Sr.?
Wiig joins a crowded list of planned celebrity guests including Seth Rogen, John Slattery, Ben Schwartz, Chris Diamantopoulos, Conan O’Brien, Andy Richter, Isla Fisher and Terry Crews
Arrested Development will see the return of the entire dysfunctional Bluth family, in addition to familiar faces from the show’s original run. Producers have miraculously cinched Minneilli, Judy Greer as Kitty Sanchez, Mae Whitman as Ann Veal, Henry Winkler as Barry Zuckerkorn, James Lipton as Warden Stefan Gentles, Carl Weathers as himself, and Scott Baio as Bob Loblaw, reports The Huffington Post.
Earlier in February, executive producer Ron Howard tweeted what could be the first image of the revived Arrested Development:
While in London I was needed for some new Arrested Development Narration. Funny twitter.com/RealRonHoward/…
