X-Men Days Of Future Past: Look Who Else Is Joining The Cast
The cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past welcomes Peter Dinklage.
Peter Dinklage’s character may never “win” the Game of Thrones, but now he can be the unofficial king of Comic Con. Emmy award-winner Peter Dinklage, 43, is joining the cast of the ever-famous X-Men films in their latest installment.
According to the New York Daily News, Director Bryan Singer tweeted Wednesday:
“Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to #XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!”
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, X-Men: Days of Future Past is based on the comic book storyline of the same name by writer Chris Claremont and artist John Byrne.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Bryan Singer did not announce what role Peter Dinklage will play in the film, but speculation offers the possibility that he’ll play Puck, a diminutive acrobatic Canadian whose physique more than makes up for his size. Puck is technically an “altered human,” like Daredevil and Spider-Man, but, in the comics, he did appear alongside the X-Men on occasion. It’s up to director Bryan Singer to reveal Peter Dinklage’s role in the film when it’s time.
Marvel sold film rights to Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and X-Men before Marvel Studios began making its own movies. The Avengers titles are still in their domain, but Marvel Studios can’t use any mutant characters in its own films. Fox owns them all. Studio ownership means that Spider-Man and Wolverine will mostly likely never be Avengers on the big screen. Also, unless a Fantastic Four reboot is in the future, they’ll never work with the Avengers either (Chris Evans plays a role on both teams at this point).
