Oscar Pistorius Girlfriend Murdered? Reeva Steenkamp Was ‘Excited’ For Valentine’s Day
COMMENTARY | The Oscar Pistorius murder charges paint the Blade Runner as a likely murder suspect if you go by police descriptions of events. But Oscar Pistorius’ girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, said she was excited the day before Valentine’s Day, giving no indication that there were any domestic problems in the Pistorius household.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Oscar Pistorius allegedly shot his 30-year-old girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, when she attempted to surprise him on Valentine’s Day but was mistaken for a burglar. But police are saying this version of events, which describe the shooting as accidental, did not come from them. Police intend on denying bail to Oscar Pistorius, and they’re keeping the track athlete in jail.
Police said they could “confirm there had been previous incidents of a domestic nature at his place.” Neighbors of Oscar Pistorius report hearing “noises,” but, whether or not they were of a violent or disruptive nature, no one can confirm.
According to the Los Angeles times, Oscar Pistorius’ father, Henke Pistorius, said his son was sad, but he didn’t know know any further details of the case:
“I don’t know nothing. It will be extremely obnoxious and rude to speculate. If anyone makes a statement, it will have to be Oscar.”
According to News Breaker, Larry King interviewed Oscar Pistorius back in October, and, when Pistorius spoke about his girlfriend, there didn’t seem to be any issues. In fact, if you go look at Reeva Steenkamp’s Twitter account, you can see that she actually was excited for Valentine’s Day, although Oscar Pistorius was not named directly. But she also asks people “what do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow,” which would seem to indicate she has her own surprise in store for Valentine’s Day. This statement seems to agree with Oscar Pistorious’ version of events as reported by the Afrikaans-language newspaper Beeld.
What do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow??? #getexcited #ValentinesDay

Do you think Oscar Pistorius’ version of events are true? If so, what sort of repercussions should he face if the death of Reeva Steenkamp was simply a tragic Valentine’s Day accident?
