Brad Pitt Wine Due Out Next Month As Actor Branches Out Into Winemaking
Brad Pitt created a wine that will be released next month, giving the A-list star a brand of alcohol to compete with his friend George Clooney.
Pitt and Angelina Jolie will debut a rosé called Miraval from their 1,000-acre estate, which is part of a joint-venture with the well known winemaking family Famille Perrin. Brad Pitt met the winemakers through a mutual friend, and the actor/filmmaker/activist decided to add vinologist to his resume.
“We are intimately involved and quite enthused over the wine project with our friends the Perrin family,” Pitt’s publicist told Bloomberg News.
Brad Pitt has more wine set to debut this summer, with a white wine on the release schedule. More red wines will be released next year as well.
Brad Pitt and the Perrins put a lot into creating the wines, omg! from Yahoo! reported.
“We also tasted a range of Provence roses to understand what the neighbors were doing and to decide what we wanted,” said Brad’s friend Marc Perrin.
Perrin added that the vineyard is fully organic, a big plus for the earth-conscious Brad Pitt.
“Organic is the only way to grow grapes,” Perrin stated.
Bloomberg wine correspondent Elin McCoy said that stainless steel tanks give Brad Pitt’s wine a flavor that is “intensely floral,” with a wild lily aroma and flavor notes of strawberry and raspberry.
Brad Pitt’s wine makes him the latest celebrity to release a brand of alcohol, those most stars are sticking to the harder stuff. Both George Clooney and Justin Timberlake have released their own tequila, Jay-Z has his own cognac, and Diddy released Ciroc Vodka in 2007.
