Congressman Tweets Bikini Model During SOTU
It may or may not be a happy Valentine’s Day for a member of the US House of Representatives who was caught last night tweeting an “I love you” message to a 24-year-old bikini model.
Steve Cohen, 63, a Democrat Congressman from Tennessee, was exchanging what he apparently thought were private messages with college co-ed Victoria Brink during President Obama’s State of the Union address. Brink reportedly lives in Texas so she isn’t even one of Cohen’s constituents.
The tweets, for some reason, are now deleted.
After receiving a tweet from Brink about just seeing him on TV, Rep. Cohen responded: “nice to know you were watchin SOTU (state of the union). Happy Valentines beautiful girl. ilu.”
Brink’s biography on the CollegeDozen website indicates that she plans “on moving back to Beverly HIlls or Houston to pursue a career in the fashion industry and do modeling on the side.”
According to the Washington Secrets page of The Examiner, the lawmaker was apparently confused between a tweet and a direct message:
“[Cohen’s] spokesman told Secrets that it was just a big oops. He said that Brink is the daughter of a long-time friend, and that he considers her ‘like family.’ And the Tweets? They were supposed to be private messages, but he tweeted them in public instead. ‘There is no romantic relationship,’ he assured us.”
Are you buying the Congressman’s explanation for tweeting the bikini model during the SOTU that there was nothing inappropriate going on? According to The Hill, Rep. Cohen has a longtime girlfriend back home in Memphis.
