O.J. Simpson Party In Jail Reported For Super Bowl
O.J. Simpson‘s party days might seem to be over, what with the incarceration and still-heavy stigma following his controversial exoneration in the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, but it has been reported that the once upon a time football hero got his shindig on behind bars — for the Super Bowl, of course.
Back in the day, O.J. Simpson‘s party throwing abilities were greater as a rich and famous athlete, and his status as a pariah after the killings of Simpson and Goldman hindered his ability to move in the same circles.
And it seemed O.J. Simpson’s party days were over for good when he was convicted in 2008 of armed robbery and remanded to Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada — where he is currently serving out a 33-year-long sentence following a Vegas hotel incident.
But reports have surfaced that Simpson is one of the few Lovelock inmates with a TV, and that the former football champ hosted fellow prisoners the night of the Super Bowl during a jailhouse soiree, in which we can imagine only the finest of toilet wine was served.
USAToday quotes the New York Post as saying of Simpson’s prison party:
“Simpson is one of the few inmates who has his own TV, reports The Post’s Richard Johnson, so his friends crammed into his 80-square-foot cell to watch. ‘If you have the money, you can buy a TV at the inmate store and put it in your cell,’ Simpson’s producer friend Norman Pardo said.”
“There was no shortage of potential guests because he’s so popular. ‘He’s like the Godfather of the prison now,’ Pardo said of the one-time NFL great.”
Pardo appears to be the only source confirming O.J. Simpson’s party in jail, and the producer is currently working on a project about the disgraced NFL legend.
