Alec Baldwin, Wife Expecting: Couple Confirm First Child Is On The Way

Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria are expecting their first child together.

Rumors about a Baldwin pregnancy first emerged last month, but the couple were quick to issue a “No comment” response. However, 28-year-old yoga instructor Hilaria has now confirmed the pregnancy to Extra, telling the magazine the news was “a surprise, a wonderful surprise!”

30 Rock star Alec wed Hilaria in a June 2012 ceremony. He is already father to Ireland, his 17-year-old daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

Hilaria told Extra she had taken a pregnancy test at the couple’s country home without telling her husband. Alex recalls how he heard the good news:

“There’s a scream I heard, which is a scream normally reserved [for] if there’s a spider in the house.”

Hilaria continues:

“He runs up the stairs and I’m holding [the pregnancy test] and showing it to him.”

Baldwin went on to call himself “lucky” and described the news as “really the most amazing thing.” Hilaria, meanwhile, is clearly still at the disbelief stage:

“I’m showing. This is actually gonna happen, now we can start the nursery, the everything, the dreaming!”

With 30 Rock having finished for good, Alec has previously discussed his desire to be a stay-at-home dad:

“I keep telling my future wife that I want her to get rich because I want to retire. She teaches yoga. I want her to become the world’s first billionaire yoga teacher. I know it is a long shot, but that’s the plan I’m sticking with right now. I want to have a baby and stay home and make the pancakes before I send my wife out to work every day to pay the bills.”
