Cruz’s pregnancy will prevent her from attending the February 17 Goya Awards in Madrid. The new baby will join big brother, Leo, 2. Cruz and Bardem married in 2010 at a friend’s home in the Bahamas.
On motherhood, Cruz told Vogue back in June 2011 that it is “a revolutionary experience. That’s the best way I can describe it . . . when you see that face, you are transformed forever.”
Alongside Leo, the couple’s new baby will also have a cousin. Cruz’s younger sister, Monica Cruz, announced earlier in January that she is expecting her first child via an anonymous sperm donor.
