Carrie Underwood Wears $31 Million Necklace To Grammys
Carrie Underwood’s $31 million necklace sparkled at the Grammy’s on Sunday night — and also won the award for most expensive jewelry of the night.
The country star stepped out for the night with more than $31 million in diamonds around her neck. The necklace was designed by Johnathon Arndt.
The country star and former American Idol winner paired the diamond necklace with an embroidered black strapless Roberto Cavalli gown, reports PEOPLE.
Carrie Underwood won a Grammy for the best country solo performance, allowing her to show off the $31 million behemoth necklace on stage as well. The sparkly strands featured 381 carats of oval, pear, marquise, and round brilliant white diamonds.
Speaking on the red carpet about the $31 million necklace, Underwood stated:
“It’s heavy on my soul. I’m afraid someone is going to tackle me and steal it… It’s worth more than me.”
Yahoo! News notes that Carrie Underwood called the necklace, “381 carats of gorgeousness.”
When Shaun Robinson of Access Hollywood asked the singer if her necklace came with a bodyguard, she responded:
“Actually it didn’t. Unless they’re lurking. They might be that good.”
Underwood laughed as she added, “This is worth like more than me, and everything I have, and have ever had and ever will have.”
While we doubt that this is true, the necklace is certainly more than any normal person can afford for a piece of jewelry. But when it’s the Grammys and you are nominated for two Grammy awards, you may as well go all out.
What do you think of Carrie Underwood’s $31 million necklace — is it too much, or perfect for the night?
