New ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Images Arrive Online [Photos]
Two new images from J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness have been unleashed online.
Star Trek fanatics who downloaded the Into Darkness app have been treated to quite a bit of exclusive content. According to Coming Soon, tech savvy moviegoers who scanned the new Entertainment Weekly cover were able to unlock two new images from the upcoming sequel.
However, not everyone was able to get the pictures when they scanned the cover with the app. TrekMovie pointed out that several people experienced problems getting the images to show up. Paramount reps explained that efforts were being made to correct the issue as soon as possible.
Fortunately for those who don’t have access to the app, the website has uploaded the new Star Trek Into Darkness images so everyone can have a look. You can find the images embedded below.
Here’s what the movie is all about:
“When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.
“With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.”
Returning for Abrams’ sequel are USS Enterprise crew members Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, and Anton Yelchin. The flick is scheduled to open in theaters on May 17. However, Imax theaters will begin showing the sequel on May 15.
