Rehab For McCready: Singer Committed To Treatment Facility By Judge
Mindy McCready has been ordered to rehab for alcohol and mental health issues, less than four weeks after the death of her boyfriend, David Wilson.
Wilson, pictured below with McCready, died on January 13 from a gunshot wound at his home in Heber Springs, Arkansas. While suicide is suspected, an investigation into the death is still being conducted by local and state authorities.
As well as rehab for McCready, the judged ordered the 37-year-old’s two young sons, nine-month-old Zayne and six-year-old Zander, to be removed from her Arkansas home. Both children are currently in the custody of the Department of Human Services in Arkansas.
E! reports how McCready was committed to treatment following an emergency hearing on Wednesday; it is believed the country singer’s own family called for the hearing to take place. The troubled star will reportedly stay in rehab for 21 days.
During the hearing, McCready confessed she has consumed excessive amounts of alcohol as she mourns the passing of Wilson. The judge ruled that rehab for McCready was a priority.
Although she has not yet been declared or cleared as a suspect in the case, McCready continues to deny any connection to Wilson’s death. In an emotional appearance on NBC’s Dateline last month, she said:
“He was my life. We were each other’s life… I have never gone through anything this painful. He didn’t just touch my heart, he touched my soul. He was my soulmate.”
