Kobe Bryant Divorce Off, But Vanessa Still Sells House She Got In Settlement
The Kobe Bryant divorce may have been averted, but the couple still had to go through some of the financial wrangling that comes with a split.
Before they reconciled, Kobe and wife Vanessa came to a settlement about who would get what in the divorce. They decided that Vanessa would get the 6,000-square-foot home that they shared, The Stir noted.
Now that Kobe Brant’s divorce is no more, Vanessa decided that she’d sell the home, and pocketed a cool $3.22 million in doing so. The house itself was pretty opulent — with five bedrooms, balconies, a spa, an outdoor kitchen, and five fireplaces — but the Bryants decided to sell the home as they moved on with their renewed marriage.
Their marriage now appears to be fairly strong, at least publicly. When the rapper Drake inserted a line into a song insinuating that Vanessa was a gold-digger, both she and Kobe responded quickly to defend their union.
After someone tweeted the lyric to the Lakers star, Kobe shot back, “no, she wasn’t. She was busy raising our kids #nonanny #respectmothers.”
Vanessa Bryant also stood up to Drake on Instagram, saying that the Canadian rapper “has never been friends with Kobe and know nothing about our relationship.”
“I don’t need to be in the gym. I’m raising our daughters, signing checks and taking care of everything else that pertains to our home life,” she wrote.”I really wish people would stop THINK and then realize that they are being sucked into someone’s clear intention to monetize and gain attention off of our family’s heartache.”
While Kobe Bryant’s divorce proceedings may have led the couple to lose the house they once shared, they’ll likely do all right, Radar Online pointed out. Aside from the $3 million they made from selling it, Kobe and Vanessa still own three other homes in the same wealthy neighborhood
