Kris Humphries is in no rush whatsoever when it comes to his divorce from reality TV star Kim Kardashian.
With her pregnancy in full swing Kim’s lawyers have requested a speedy trial, a maneuver Kris’ lawyers are attempting to block.
A rep for Humphries tells E! that Kim Kardashian is attempting to use her pregnancy to speed up the lawsuit, despite various delays in the discovery process.
Attorney Marshall Waller tells E! :
“What are they hiding? What is there in the raw footage of this televised courtship, 72-day marriage and resultant breakup that they are so afraid of us discovering?”
Marshall continues:
“What is really going on here is that an ‘urgency’ in the form of an apparently unplanned pregnancy, something the Respondent had nothing to do with, is perceived by Plaintiff as an opportunity to gain a litigation advantage by trying to force this court to prematurely set this matter for trial.”
Kris Humphries is currently in the midst of the NBA season and won’t be available to attend Kim Kardashian’s deposition until mid-May or June.
In responding to the continued delay Kim says:
“I can’t speak for Kris, but I just want him to be happy and I want us to move on, and that’s really what I want, is just to move on.”
Kris Humphries’ lawyers in their original filing said they would be done with the discovery process by the end of 2012. In the original filing Kris’ lawyers said they would only finish on-time if “everybody was cooperative.”
According to AceShowbiz Kris’ attorney revealed:
“If there really is ‘no evidentiary support’ to support Humphries claims, why don’t they just give us the access we want? What are they hiding? What is there in the raw footage of this televised courtship, 72 day marriage and resultant breakup that they are so afraid of us discovering?”
In the meantime a readiness hearing is scheduled for Feb. 15 at 8:30 a.m.
