Teen Mom OG star Ryan Edwards and his wife Mackenzie Standifer welcomed their first child together this week. Sadly, Ryan was not there to see his new bundle of joy being born.
According to an October 10 report by Radar Online, Ryan Edwards’ wife Mackenzie Standifer gave birth to the couple’s son Jagger Ryan Edwards on Tuesday around midnight.
Mackenzie was said to be induced on October 8, and the baby boy reportedly weighed in at 7 pounds 1 ounce. However, Ryan was not at the hospital for the birth and missed his second child’s entrance into the world due to a second stint in rehab.
However, the Teen Mom OG star wasn’t alone while giving birth. She had her parents, as well as Ryan’s mother and father there for her during the joyous occasion.
“Mackenzie’s mom Terran and dad Bobby were at the hospital. Ryan’s mom Jen and dad Larry were also there,” an insider told the outlet.
Little Jagger now joins two big brothers, Ryan’s oldest son Bentley, whose mother is Maci Bookout, and Mackenzie’s son Hudson from her first marriage. Both of the boys reportedly visited their new sibling in the hospital following his birth.
Standifer and her new baby boy are reportedly set to live with her parents when they are discharged from the hospital due to Edwards’ absence.
Sources previously told the site that Mackenzie Standifer had moved out of the house she and Ryan Edwards had been living in, and that the Teen Mom OG dad would likely not get out of rehab until well after the first of the year.
“Mackenzie moved out of the lake house they were in and is now living with her parents. He isn’t supposed to be out until February or March,” the source dished.
As many Teen Mom OG fans know, Ryan has been struggling with substance abuse for quite a while. The reality star shocked fans when he was filmed during under the influence in a shocking scene where he was spotted slurring his words, swerving all over the road, and falling asleep behind the wheel.
Soon after the episode aired, Edwards confirmed that he had attended rehab for heroin addiction. However, it seems that he may have relapsed, or been close to relapsing, because he’s currently back in treatment, and seemingly for a 6-month stay this time around.
Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer are no longer filming for Teen Mom OG.
