Chris Pratt To Star In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’
Chris Pratt has reportedly landing the starring role in Marvel’s upcoming epic Guardians of the Galaxy.
Pratt, who is probably best known for playing Andy Dwyer in the sitcom Parks And Recreations, has reportedly landed the role of Star-Lord in the new film. Deadline reports that Pratt has officially been given the role but Marvell has not confirmed the news yet.
Yahoo Movies writes:
“Pratt will be playing Peter Quill, an astronaut who’s reinvented as Star-Lord when he teams up with a group of strange characters from another time and dimension.”
Pratt may be best known as Loveable idiot Andy Dwyer but he has some pretty serious acting credits to his name as well. Pratt had a big role in Brad Pitt’s Moneyball and recently played one of the Navy SEAL’s in Zero Dark Thirty.
MTV reports that Pratt beat out several big names for the role in Guardians of the Galaxy. Joel Edgerton, Jack Huston, Jim Sturgess, Zachary Levi and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were all considered for the role of Star-Lord.
Marvell is coming off of a series of major successes that culminated in The Avengers and the company is hoping to milk that universe a little more before the sequel comes out in 2015. Guardians of the Galaxy is scheduled for an August 1, 2014 release date and will officially close “phase 2” before The Avengers sequel hits theaters.
What do you think about the Guardians of the Galaxy movie? Do you think Chris Pratt is the right choice for Star-Lord?
